Hello World!

Is it possible that I'm the only person in the world who doesn't blog?  I don't know, I've started several times, only to neglect it.  I've typed for hours and never published.  Well, it's high time I pull up my big girl panties and make it a go!
Why "a blessing remains"?  Well, in September, 2009, I contracted and survived NF or the flesh eating bacteria.  I won't go in to all the gory details (this time!), but basically it is exactly what it says.  It's a bacteria that eats the flesh and soft tissue in your body.  Diagnosis is key to surviving...and the survival rate is slim!  One day, I'll find a way to turn my survival in to something big and important, but for now, my three breathtakingly beautiful babies have their mother and honestly, that's the entire reason I'm still here!  They are the blessing that remains after all of the crap that came with the disease!
I'm a little skiddish about getting too personal here, but by the same token, I want to share every detail in hopes of finding people who can see that they too can survive ANYTHING!  I'll start with today, rather than going in to the past...because we ALL should learn to live in the present.  So I woke up today and had my first glass of Mountain Dew.  My friend brought her granddaughter over so that she could go to 2 appointments about an hour and a half away.  While I was busy getting my oldest off to school, I had a 9 month old, a 22 month old and a 3 year old tugging at my pant leg for breakfast.  The significant other (who will also be described as the sperm donor, depending on the day!) was on the phone with unemployment asking why, after his second year of collecting, didn't he get his money this week.  Answer: his time is up!  Great - that leaves us with about $40 to last us until I get paid on January 3rd.  So much for stuffing the stockings this year...and thank God for my amazing parents, who will make up for what I couldn't do ten-fold!  My van is sitting idle at the shop with transmission issues.  The Jeep just got out of the shop but still has crappy brakes.  A broken wire cost $40 to replace.  Aaaannnnnddddd - there's my country song for the day!
Shit happens!  This too shall pass!  No one said it would be easy...and yet, a blessing remains!
